Come out to celebrate General Nathanael Greene’s 272nd birthday on Saturday, August 9.

The party will recognize the birthday of Washington’s most trusted Major General in the American Revolutionary War, for whom the city of Greensboro was named.

The party is free and open to the public and attendees get to meet the General, join in singing him happy birthday, and help him eat his birthday cake! Also enjoy children’s colonial games, the Carolina Colonial Dancers, a visit with reenactors in their camp and music from the Guilford Fife and Drum Corps.

General Nathanael Greene’s birthday party will kick off at 10 a.m. near his statue at Guilford Courthouse National Military Park at 2332 New Garden Road in Greensboro.
